Genesis Surround Channels
At Genesis, we believe that in multi-channel music, and also in movies, each channel is equally important. With the high-resolution surround soundtrack now available from Blu-ray movies, it is even more important for the surround speakers to deliver resolution like never before required.
The Genesis Reference Surround channel (designated RR1) is a combination monopole/dipole surround loudspeaker that is designed with a matching "voice" to audiophile Genesis loudspeaker systems - all the way up to the flagship Genesis 1. With the RR1, you can be assured of absolute fidelity™ for multi-channel music, and a consistent voice throughout the surround matrix when used in the full Genesis multi-channel music or movie system.
Their unique shapes allow the RR1 to be mounted on a side-wall or rear-wall, or in a corner where it does not take up valuable space. It also includes a high-level speaker throughput for easy connection to the Genesis ServoSub™ 2/12t corner subwoofer. Partnering the RR1 with the S2/12t results in a surround channel system that delivers a full, seamless frequency response from 16Hz to 36kHz. It features an electronic trigger that allows it to be remotely switched from monopole to dipole mode. Unique with the RR1 is a special crossover network that does not diminish bass response when used in dipole mode. Hence, an identical surround "voice" can be achieved for both THX™ and Dolby Surround sources.
For customers who do not require the versatility of a dipole mode, the Genesis Standard Surround (designated SR1) is identical to the RR1 except that it is a monopole-only loudspeaker.
