Our Thai dealer Wuti Larnwoongroj of Audio Excellence, Bangkok is also one of the largest retailers of legal, royalty-paid Reel-to-Reel tape titles in the world through his store Image Music & Film Co. also in Bangkok. That may be why Groove Note has decided to have the world premier launch of two tape titles: GRV1088 Vanessa Fernandez When the Levee Breaks and GRV1099 Jacintha Fire & Rain on June 30th. Our CEO Gary Leonard Koh will be there for the relaunch of the Genesis Forte with the new Genesis designed ribbon mid-range at the same time.
Groove Note owner Ying Tan will be on hand to demo the tapes, and also do some A/B comparisons with the 45rpm vinyl, as well as to play a 30ips master of the new as-yet-unmastered Vanessa album. With over 30 years experience in music production (Classic Records, Groove Note and ORG), he will talk about the differences between Pro and Consumer machines, and the big difference between tapes produced by the serious mastering places and those that are generally available on the Internet.
If you are in Bangkok, this is a must-not-miss event to hear the best that tape can do.
Hi-Fi Sales Company will be hosting an event with the Titans of the Audio Industry, featuring VPI, Genesis Advanced Technlogies, Theoretica Applied Physics & Rogers High Fidelity. RSVP by registering here for a great afternoon of Vinyl, Digital, Solid State and Tubes!
Gary L Koh has carried on the same tradition of delivering bleeding edge technology in the service of the advancement of the state of the art. Gary & his Washington-Made speakers have since gone on to win numerous industry awards and recognition from the audiophile press, and more importantly, proud owners the world over.
The System will consist of:
VPI Titan Turntable and Fat Boy Gimballed and Unipivot Tonearms.
Genesis Advanced Technologies Maestro Loudspeakers (Cartridge selections by Gary Koh)
Rogers High Fidelity PA-1A Tubed Phono Stage and 34S-1 Flagship Integrated Amplifier
Theoretica Applied Physics BACCH SP Adio 3D Sound Processor/Network Streamer.
The new Genesis Maestro loudspeaker will be introduced around in China over the next few months. Here, it was demo’ed in GuangZhou with McIntosh gear!
If you read Chinese, or don’t mind Google’s attempt at translation, check out the description of this event on This Link. The Maestro will be available in Rosewood and Ebony veneers or a rich Piano Black in a high gloss finish.
Here’s a great little video by Gig Harbor Audio featuring probably one of the rarest models of Genesis loudspeakers – the baby G7p “petite”. We are known for 6-foot tall behemoths, so no one expects a little stand-mount monitor, but it is Gary Koh’s “favorite design” because he says “it does so much for so little”. That being relative, of course.
The G7p uses the same tweeter as our flagship Genesis Prime (just much fewer of them) and the same high quality crossover components.
