Hyper Sonic X4
SONIC X4 MOVING COIL PHONO CARTRIDGE
Sonic X-treme...
In conceiving and making a phono cartridge for extreme performance, with extreme specifications, EVERYTHING matters! Every detail matters! This MC cartridge is built to our extreme specifications by a renown Swiss cartridge maker. Every idea, every parameter we know, every experience, that could improve musical reproduction on vinyl, had been carefully evaluated, tried and proofed and where practicable, had been incorporated into this cartridge.

The Hyper Sonic X4 is a unique moving coil cartridge with a proprietary Multi-Layer Core. This is combined with a new, stronger magnet alloy that is shaped to optimally focus magnetic flux, The stronger, focused magnetic field results in less coil-turns required for a given output. Lesser coils lower the inductance which affect the flow of electrical current.

Absolutely no magnetic materials that could influence the optimally focused magnetic flux fields are used in construction. In addition, gold-anodized titanium screws are included for cartridge mounting. Musically, this results in better dynamics and dynamic contrasts – the nuances in music that we so treasure.

The Sonic X4 employs a stiff Diamond Cantilever with a reinforced hardened titanium sleeve. This configuration is more efficient in transferring the micro-deflection generated by the precisely aligned Micro-Ridge Stylus to the moving coil. The highly refined and polished tip of the Micro-Ridge Stylus, which most closely replicate the cutter on the master lathe gives the Sonic X4 the ability to trace every minute detail of the grooves cut in the lacquer or vinyl with the lowest friction. This results in vanishingly low levels of groove noise.

The MC generator is rigidly held in place with a titanium superstructure that provide the proper and precise interface to the tonearm. The body is titanium with a shot-peen hardened surface treatment. Three tungsten inserts are strategically embedded into the body to enhance the inertia stability of the cartridge and for improved resonance damping.
